Hi Lupe. First, you have done great work on this issue. With our medical school and children's hospital at the MCA, we are moving in the right direction. We delivered a letter to the VA on a VA hospital in El Paso. Since this is a federal issue, you will also want to work with federal officials. We will keep pushing, because veterans' care is worth the fight! |

We must deal in a compassionate, rational way with issues related to mental health. When state government makes a choice to be dead last in what we spend on mental health, local taxpayers bear the burden. Last session, this office worked to increase mental health funding in the state budget. In El Paso, we will work together to address short-term and long-term mental health issues. |
